The Opportunity
Brightforge Talent is working with a fast-growing company in the renewable energy technology sector, based in Moorabbin, Victoria. This innovative organisation provides technical support to a large customer base and has developed smart renewable devices to enhance energy efficiency. They are currently seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in networking and cloud infrastructure to join their team on a contract/temporary basis.
This role is crucial for building and supporting the backend systems and cloud infrastructure behind their smart energy gateway devices, contributing to the advancement of smart energy solutions.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Design and implement backend services essential for managing and monitoring connected energy devices.
Develop and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily utilising AWS services.
Optimise network performance and reliability for deployed gateway devices.
Collaborate closely with embedded systems engineers and deployment teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Troubleshoot network connectivity and cloud service issues within real-time operational environments.
Qualifications/Skills We Are Looking For
Proficient programming skills in Python, particularly for scripting and backend development.
Solid experience with network protocols, device connectivity principles, and security best practices.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., IoT Core, VPC, Lambda, S3, EC2).
Comfortable working within Linux operating system environments.
A solid grasp of cloud networking principles and distributed system design.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
