Brightforge Talent is representing a renowned and dynamic hospitality group known for its acclaimed restaurants and venues across Australia. Based in Melbourne, they are seeking a versatile Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join their IT team.

This Level 2/3 generalist role offers exposure to a wide variety of IT functions, including desktop support, network deployments and troubleshooting, server and storage management, and cybersecurity initiatives. Working within an environment where you'll have direct access across the IT infrastructure, this position provides a unique opportunity to apply and broaden your skills across different domains, contributing significantly to the stability and growth of the company's multi-site IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on Level 2/3 support for end-user devices, troubleshooting hardware and software issues effectively.

  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure across multiple sites.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues (LAN, WLAN, VPN, DNS) to ensure a stable and efficient network environment.

  • Help manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows Server, Virtualisation) and storage systems.

  • Utilise expertise in managing internet-facing networks and ensuring robust interconnectivity.

  • Assist with vulnerability assessments and the implementation/maintenance of security protocols and best practices.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand IT needs and resolve technical issues promptly.

  • Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices relevant to IT support, networking, and cybersecurity.

  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the IT infrastructure.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise.

  • Manage backups and contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Level 2+ generalist IT support role, ideally within an IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) or a similarly broad internal IT environment.

  • Strong ability to translate complex IT concepts into clear, concise, and approachable language for non-technical users (verbal and written).

  • Experience with Backups and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies and processes.

  • Proficiency with Azure AD and Azure hosting services.

  • Hands-on experience with network configuration and troubleshooting, including VPNs, DNS, and wireless LANs.

  • Experience managing network hardware: switches, routers, firewalls.

  • Strong experience supporting Windows Desktops in Active Directory (AD) & Azure environments.

  • Solid understanding and experience with Windows Server administration, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, and potentially Microsoft Exchange.

  • Experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).

  • Microsoft certifications are highly valued.
