The Opportunity

Brightforge Talent is partnering with one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, an independent governing body based in Melbourne. They are seeking a suitably qualified Cyber Security Engineer to join their Digital Transformation & Technology Team.

This crucial role holds responsibility for all aspects of Cyber Security within the organisation. You will have a key focus on platform, network, and application security, alongside enhancing and maintaining Cyber Security policies and practices across their Hybrid Cloud technology stack (AWS, Azure, O365, vSphere). Working closely with various stakeholders within IT and the broader organisation, you will protect their online presence, data, and associated IT assets while actively uplifting the overall cyber security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage security controls across Hybrid Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, O365, vSphere).

  • Drive enterprise security architecture initiatives.

  • Conduct Threat Intelligence gathering, Threat Hunting, and vulnerability assessments.

  • Improve security controls through the implementation of technical controls and processes.

  • Manage and maintain Internet and network security systems, including firewalls, load balancers, WAFs, IPS/IDS, PKI, IPSEC, and remote access systems.

  • Enhance and maintain Cyber Security policies and practices.

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to protect IT assets and uplift security posture.

About You

You thrive in a customer-centric, fast-paced, and hands-on team environment. Key skills and experience include:

  • Significant experience working in Information/Cyber Security, preferably within a Medium to Large corporate organisation.

  • Experience using and implementing security controls on Hybrid Cloud platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, O365, vSphere).

  • Demonstrated experience in driving enterprise security architecture.

  • Experience with Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and vulnerability assessment processes.

  • Hands-on experience improving security controls by implementing technical controls and processes.

  • Strong knowledge of Internet and network security systems, network protocols, and tools including firewalls, load balancers, WAFs, IPS/IDS, PKI, IPSEC, and remote access systems.

  • Experience with security tools like Netskope/Zscaler, and workflow tools like JIRA & PagerDuty, is highly advantageous.
